Who Am I?I am from a small town in South Dakota and have been in education for more years than I would like to disclose =). I have worked as a Paraprofessional with the Emotional Behavioral Disorders program, then as an EBD teacher, and now I am a Learning Disabilities Teacher where I teach Math, English, and Life Skills. I am also an Adjunct Professor at St. Mary's University, in which I prepare new teachers to take on roles in special education.

Why Am I Here?My eldest brother was born with mental retardation and I became his legal guardian when I was 19. I moved him from our hometown to Marshall, then to Luverne, where I reside now. He has been instrumental in guiding me down a path to work with students with exceptional needs. I have a true passion for teaching students to advocate for their needs and enjoy the high school level in preparing them for their transition into adulthood.
